Dear Families and Guardians:
This letter is to inform you that school will be closing at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 1, 2022 due to a water main break in the city of Morenci. The repair is for that day and will require that the water to the schools be turned off. As school cannot operate without water we will be sending students home at 11:00 a.m. Due to short notice sack lunches will not be provided that day. All evening events and activities will be canceled as well as no a.m. Tech Center.
The repair is scheduled to be completed on Thursday, December 1st but will likely result in a boil water advisory for Friday. Arrangements have been made to bring in water coolers/dispensers and bottled water for students and staff on Friday in order for them to safely return to school as quickly as possible. If you have a water bottle for your child please be sure to send it that day. Paper Cups will be available for students as needed.
Thank you to the City of Morenci for reaching out and sharing details regarding the water main break as early as possible and for collaborating with MAS to minimize the impact on students.
