Morenci Elementary School

All volunteers must complete a Background Check form prior to participating in school activities.

Lunch Buddies
A program that pairs adult mentors with elementary students to offer friendship and support. Volunteers are asked to commit to meeting with the same student each week for approximately one hour (during their lunch and recess time) to talk and play games together.

Recess
Helping to monitor students during their afternoon Recess time 10:30-11:45.

Lunch
Helping to monitor students during lunchtime.  Assist students with a salad bar cart, condiments, opening milk, and cleaning up spills.  Assist in washing down tables or sweeping the floor after lunch. 10:55- 12:15. 

Library Assistance
Offering assistance to our Library Coordinator Erica Sandusky, shelving books, organizing materials, helping students find books, or just reading with a student. Tuesdays and Thursdays anytime between 8:00-3:00. 

Classroom Assistance
This may be for classroom parties, special projects, cutting out laminated material, reading with students, or preparing materials. Contact your child’s teacher to see how you can help.

Special Readers
Do you love to read to children? Teachers love to have community members come in and read to their students. Contact the office or your child’s teacher to schedule a time to read. 

Field Trip Chaperones
We go on various field trips throughout the school year.  If you would like to attend, complete the background check form and let your child’s teacher know that you are interested. 

PTO
We have a very involved and supportive Parent Teacher Organization.  There is flexibility with the amount of involvement. We would love to have you participate in this organization.  Contact them at morencielementarypto@gmail.com  to see how you can help.
