Morenci Area Schools would like to welcome Hannah Wilson. Mrs. Wilson will be a special education teacher in the middle/high school this coming school year.
Middle sports kick off with their first practice tomorrow, August 22nd. 7th & 8th grade Volleyball practice will be from 1:00-3:00 pm in the middle school gym. 6th-8th grade cross country practice will be from 3:30-4:30 p.m. on the practice football field. 6th-8th grade sideline cheer will practice from 3-5 pm in the high school cafeteria. 7th & 8th grade football will have their first practice on Monday, August 29th.

Come play games, pick up free school supplies, shop local vendors, and enjoy food made by Morenci Schools cafeteria staff. There will be booths showcasing school clubs and teams, Morenci Fire & Police Department vehicles to check out, and a dunk tank featuring prominent members of the school and city. This collaborative event for kids of all ages is brought to you by Seneca Community Church, City of Morenci, Morenci Area Schools, and Kiwanis of Morenci. The Board of Education meeting scheduled for this evening has been rescheduled for August 8th at 7 pm.
Please join the Morenci Board of Education on tomorrow, Tuesday, July 26th at 5:00 p.m. to meet the two finalists being considered as the next superintendent of Morenci Area Schools. The board has selected Mrs. Jennifer Ellis, principal at Clinton Elementary, and Dr. Sean Wightman, principal at Dowagiac Middle School for final interviews. Following the reception, a special board meeting will begin with Mrs. Ellis’ interview at 6:00 p.m. and Dr. Wightman’s interview at 7:30 p.m. Following the interviews, the Board will discuss and decide on the next superintendent of Morenci Areas Schools. The public is welcome at this special board meeting.
