๐งช๐ฌ Exciting times in Mrs. Whaley's science class! Yesterday, students got hands-on experience dissecting mice, and identifying the heart, lungs, and intestines. While some kids loved the up-close look at anatomy, others found it a bit too gross. ๐ญโค๏ธ๐ซ๐ฆ

In Mr. Phillip's seventh-hour Economics class students recently embarked on an exciting entrepreneurial journey. Tasked with developing a product or service to solve a real problem, they first conducted surveys among their peers and staff to gather valuable data.
Each group filmed their commercials, showcasing their product with data from their surveys. Next, they Presented to the "Sharks" in class. These tough critics grilled the groups with questions before deciding whether to support their projects. From market research to pitching skills, students gained invaluable experience.

A huge thank you to Mr. & Mrs. Pike for bringing in their amazing exotic pets to share with Mrs. B-V and Mrs. Cox's classes! ๐ฆ๐๐ข The students loved the experience! ๐

๐Mrs. Rohde's fourth-grade class read an informational text from their HMH Into Reading curriculum called *Bug Bites*. The text covered how bugs outnumber humans, their nutritional benefits, cultural views on eating bugs, and the potential of bugs as a future food source.
After their discussion, the students had the chance to try edible bugs. The bugs were dead and safely preparedโno raw bugs. Participation was optional, with gummy bugs available for those who preferred. Mrs. Rohde was so proud of her "Bug Bunch" for their bravery, whether they ate, nibbled, or just watched.

โLieutenant Colonel Kreischer visited our students and talked to them about his career flying an F-16 Fighter Jet. He is based out of the 180th Fighter Wing in Toledo, OH. Our students had so many questions and learned a lot from him. Fourth grader Nash Ekins presented him with a poem that he had written after seeing Colonel Kreischer fly over the school. #morencibulldogs

On Tuesday, May 7, voters will be asked to vote on a 3-year non-homestead operating millage. Traditionally, voters have been asked to vote on non-homestead operating tax levy each year. The district is advocating for this change due to the increasing expenses linked with conducting elections. By extending the levy to three years, the district aims to streamline administrative costs and ensure a more efficient allocation of resources, ultimately benefiting the community as a whole. The non-homestead operating tax levy raises more than $900,000 each year and represents about 12% of the districtโs General Fund budget.
