The Morenci Memorial Day Parade is a fantastic event for kids to participate in and show their appreciation and patriotism. It's a great opportunity for the community to come together and honor the memory of those who have served and sacrificed for their country.
Kids are invited to join the parade on Monday, May 29th, and are encouraged to wear red, white, and blue to showcase their patriotic spirit. They can also decorate their bikes, wagons, or strollers to add a festive touch to the parade. It's a chance for the young ones to be actively involved and contribute to the celebratory atmosphere.
Please note that only golf carts are permitted if the driver is 18 years or older. This ensures the safety of all participants and aligns with the guidelines set for the event.
The parade lineup is at Wakefield Park at 9:30 a.m. The ceremony begins at 10:00 a.m. with the parade following. The parade route is east on Main St. turning north on North St./M156 ending at Oak Grove Cemetery. This solemn and meaningful tribute allows the community to pay their respects and reflect on the sacrifices made by servicemen and women. To be respectful of the fallen soldiers, no candy will be thrown.
Encourage your kids to join the Morenci Memorial Day Parade, wear their red, white, and blue, and be part of this meaningful celebration.

The fifth-grade students had a valuable opportunity to familiarize themselves with the Middle/High school and gain insight into what to expect when they enter sixth grade. Students were given a presentation, took a tour, had lunch in the cafeteria, and got their locker assignments for the fall.
Overall, this provides an excellent introduction to middle/high school life and helps fifth-grade students feel more prepared and excited for their upcoming transition. It's a wonderful way to support their growth and ensure a positive start to their new academic journey.
