The Morenci Education Foundation (MEF) proudly honored three outstanding Morenci High School alumni at the 2024 Annual Dinner and Auction. These distinguished alumni have demonstrated exceptional professional achievements and a strong commitment to community service.

Allison Pickles Ott – Class of 1996

Allison Pickles Ott, Vice President of Gurdjian Insurance Group, Inc., was recognized for her dedication to the insurance industry and her contributions to the community. Allison has been a part of Gurdjian Insurance Group for 28 years, earning her life and health insurance license in 2003 and a business degree from the University of Phoenix in 2006. In 2007, she achieved her Senior Market Specialist accreditation.

Residing in rural Sand Creek, Michigan, Allison and her husband Joe are deeply involved in farming while raising their two children, Douglas and Eleanor. She is also an active community member, serving as Seneca Township Clerk and playing a vital role in the Kiwanis Club of Adrian, where she has held multiple leadership positions, including President and Foundation Board Member. Currently, she continues her service as a Flag Captain for the club’s Flag Committee.

Heather Robertson Sarnac – Class of 2003

Heather Robertson Sarnac, the Director for Community and Economic Development for the City of Morenci, was honored for her leadership and dedication to the city’s growth and revitalization. A co-valedictorian of the Morenci High School Class of 2003, Heather pursued a degree in dental hygiene at Kellogg Community College, graduating in 2006. She worked as a dental hygienist for 16 years before transitioning into her current role in 2022.

Heather resides in Morenci with her husband, Shawne, and their children, Harrison and Lynden. Passionate about her community, she serves as President of the Morenci Area Schools Board of Education and is actively involved in several organizations, including the Kiwanis Club of Morenci, Revitalize Morenci Initiative, the Morenci Jr. Dawgs Wrestling Program, and Housing Lenawee. In addition to her professional and volunteer work, Heather enjoys gardening, restoring vintage furniture, and supporting her children’s athletic and musical endeavors.
