Town & Country Festival Ride

The Town & Country Festival returns with a mix of new and familiar attractions this year with Sue Snyder as the chair of the festival committee. Scheduled for May 29-31, this year’s event promises to deliver fun for all ages. The new dates were selected to secure a ride company’s participation, with the contract approved by the City Council at their January 13 meeting.

The festival will feature the annual royalty contest on Thursday evening and live musical entertainment on Friday and Saturday nights. The festival will open at 5 p.m. on Thursday and Friday, with Saturday offering a full day of festivities, including the parade at 11 a.m. and a fireworks display at 10 p.m. In addition to rides, games, and live entertainment, the festival will include activities such as bingo and tournaments for pickleball, corn hole, and men’s softball, among others. Local organizations are invited to host activities or booths to support their causes. The committee has also planned to expand the vendor show this year, and participation forms will soon be available at City Hall.

Sue expressed gratitude for the many volunteers who have stepped up to organize various aspects of the festival but noted that the committee is still seeking someone to coordinate the royalty contest and a potential arm-wrestling tournament. Planning meetings are held on the first Monday of each month at 7 p.m. at The Gathering Place in downtown Morenci, and interested volunteers are encouraged to attend. This month’s meeting has been postponed one week to Monday, February 10.
